Effect of Regenarated Energy on AC Alternators.

Hallo Friends,
I want to know what is the effect of regenerated energy on
3 phase power generators (Alternators)?
The energy is fed back to the generator by 4Q DC Drive
while braking of DC Motor.
How to do the generator sizing considering above
situation. The motors are of 100Kw.

You cannot regen to the alt only, you must switch in resistive load on the bus equal in rating to the amount of regen power

I agree with pwr gru, 4q drives do not work well with generators, it is possible to damage the drive during regeration if there is insufficient load on the system.
