I am installing Edrawings Publisher for a computer using WF4.0 (M140 datecode). During the installation I am asked to select which version of Pro/E to use for the installation. This is were my problem lies as I am unable to select any version of Pro/E. I try changing the directory to the "proe/bin" folder to find the executable proe file, but the edrawings installer says the the file cannot be found.

Has anybody heard about this issue and/or have any suggestions on a fix?

It will depend on what version of eDrawings you are trying to install with what version of ProE you have installed.

The 32bit version will not see 64bit ProE and vice versa.

That makes sense and is probably the issue. It doesn't look like edrawings publisher comes in 64-bit format for Pro/E yet.

Thanks.

I am looking for the free version of the publisher not Edrawings Professional as I do not want to pay for a license. There is no 64-bit version for Pro/E on the following website: http://www.edrawingsviewer.com/pages/programs/download/index .html?downloadtype=64bit

When you download and install the professional version, it will only run for 15 days. After that, only the free version will run, unless you purchase a license.

Has Pro/E 32 Bit should run on 64bit system in most
cases.

You can still view the files see if you can get a 32bit
version co-installed with 64 bit. Open a Bug for it if
you pay maintenance then they should serve you.

Just SolidWorks and AutoCAD

eDrawings is owned by SolidWorks which is why you are
charged more for the Pro Version.

Too bad there is no Run in Compatability mode for 64bit
option on windows.

I installed the 64-bit professional version of Edrawings, which was able to locate the Pro/E software for publishing. I hope that it still functions as the free version after 15 days. If not, I guess I'll have to find another option.

Thanks for the responses.

It should. We have eDrawings installed and have only two liceenses. When both are being used, if a third person tries to use it, it publishes as the free publisher from which you cannot take cross sections or dimensions (and I am sure other lost functionality).

I highly recommend the PRO version. The cross-section
functionality is worth the price.
