Edge round of a surface

can anyone suggest me the proper way to round the edges of a surface?
I am trying to round the edge of a surface.
here is the snap.

are the surfaces where the round are placed merged? If so, the round feature should behave like when you are modeling a solid piece. What you can do is to make the round as in your pic, and then merge it with the other surfaces.

i had not merged the surfaces.
I am able to get a fluent round after merging surfaces.
