Edge distance for drilled in anchor in circular column

How do I determmine the "edge distance" for the design of drilled-in adhesive anchors to a circular column?

Example#1: 36" diameter column, 1.25" diameter bolts in 1.375" diameter holes with RE500 adhesive, extending 8" into the column. Load is pure shear downward. What "edge distance" should I use for the calculation of the allowable shear capacity of the bolts (shear parallel to the edge). Pure shear only.

Example #2: Same as above, except with 7/8" diameter bolts extending 4" into the column. What edge distance should I use for for the calculation of the allowable shear capacity of the bolts (shear parallel to the edge).
 
I don't think the edge distance is relevant in this case. Like on the face of a wall, remote from the edges.
 
Thanks Hokie66 - we had come to this conclusion too, after I posted this question.
I think that the circular surace should be taken into account in some way, because the 55 degree (to the bolt axis) failure cone will be intercepted by the curved surface. So if I have say 8" actual embdement with a 36" diamter column, then I think that I should design for: 8" less the distance from the chord joining the 2 points where the failure cone intersects the curved surface, to the curved surface, a distance in this case of about 1.5" for a 36" diameter column. This would mean designing fot an embedment of 8" less 1.5" = 6.5". Do you agree?
 
I agree, ajk1, you don't have an edge distance problem, you have a geometry problem. i. e. how does the ACI failure cone intersect the column surface?
