Hi Guys,

I am currently working with the 3M EC 3524 epoxy adhesive but am currently having problems with it application. The material is applied to the surface and once cured, machined back to the correct profile and thickness. However, I am experiencing air bubbles within the substrate. Is there a machine or an application process that could pound the material on to the tool surface to help eliminate the air pocket?

Any advice on this would be great.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with that particular product but it is not described as an adhesive but as a filler.

How are you curing the EC 3524? If you're using a vacuum bagging method then the vacuum may pull out volatiles giving you voids. If you're curing at ambient pressure then you might want to consider mixing under vacuum if you have the facility.
