Hi all, thank you for the help in advance.

I have a square mesh in which I have inflicted a prescribed displacement to the central node in order to cause an earthquake type movement. My mesh is supposed to represent a square sample of soil.
I applied a decay amplitude to this prescribed displacement, but whenever I try to get results from it, the displacement-time graph comes out as linear. Does anyone know why this is? I was expecting almost an exponential decay as the energy dissipates.

Any help would be much appreciated - thank you!
