When I'm in word, I want to write a name to a document. But I also want this name to be part of a heading elsewhere in this document. How do I link this other text region to the original, so that this text says the same?

Was this understandable?

Best regards

Tommy

Why do you need VBA for this? You simply bookmark the original text and reference that bookmark where you need it.

Because I want the text to be dynamically updated. If not, you have to update the region manually.

I want to do this to eliminate errors in our documents.

Can this be done within Word?

Bookmarks are updated every time you close / re-open a document. Also updated by Print Preview or Print (assuming you have your Tools/Options/Print Options set up accordingly).

You can also update all bookmarks in a document with ctrl-A (selects all) F9 (update).

Anyone who has macro security set to High will wind up disabling any AutoRun macros, thereby disabling any dynamic updating.

FAQ731-376

Hello, I am not so very experienced in word as I am in engineering software. I find it not so logical and straight forward.

Maybe I could send a simple example file and explain the problem a little further in the sheet?

In advance, thanks...

Tommy
