I am using MathCad 2000 Professional and I have an equation that I am evaluating with one variable that can either be positive or negative. Is there an operator in MathCad for plus and minus values +/-X.

Nope, that'll just make it undefined, as far as Mathcad is concerned, assuming that it would even understand that concept.

You could, however, make x a vector with the positive and negative values and structure your equations to handle the vector input.
