Dear All,

We have designed a chilled water system and we have used Double regulating valves in this system now the client is requiring selection calculations of DRVs.

I need to perform DRV selection calculations, can use this formula Kv = Flow Rate (m3/h) / Δ P (Bar) , If yes how can i calculate Pressure Drop? for this ??

Regards,

pressure drop on circuit part with variable flow has to be about equal to regulating valve's set pressure.

that way you reach hydraulic authority of about 0,5,. which enables good regulability. that's very basics.

So did you not select the DRV's on the basis of a previous calculation? If I were the client, I'd expect you to be able to pull the calculations out of a folder on the spot (or pretty darn quickly).
