Hi,

yes, done it, but the SE-Help has a good explanation I think. Get to
SE--> Help --> Index and under variables you will find this topic

Create a Variable with a Link to a Spreadsheet

You can't, however, drive a 'driven variable' from a spreadsheet.
Those variables have a grey background.

Hi
Yes, I have done this recently with very good success. Once you get the hang of it it is very easy.

- right click on your Excel cell and select COPY.
- open your variable table in SE and select the cell in the FORMULA column of the variable you want to drive.
- right click and select PASTE LINK (not paste).

If this doesn't work let me know and i will go to my workstation and run through the sequence - i my have forgotten to mention something.

A couple of things to remember:
- open the spreadsheet before you open the SE model.
- changing the name of the spreadsheet, worksheet, or moving the cell will break the link. (it is possible to change the path revision manager however)
- if you think you will need to move cells, name the cells first and the link will be ok.
- not essential but best to keep the spreadsheet in the same folder as the assembly.

I have used this process to build a user interface that works very well and i also found it easier to link values to the spreadsheet rather than between variables tables.
