Ok folks heres what i am looking to do.

We make parts that are cylindrical. These components have lots of holes in them (think like a circular collinder) I would like to write a spreadsheet that will give me sizes and locations on the hole on an unwrapped cylinder. However im having difficulty doing this. I am also unsure how i would get this essentially a series of co-ordinates onto a cylinder (from a flat sheet) in solid edge. And then for it all to be driven. Im no good at macros or vb and would like to know if i could do this.

Now if we had a fixed number of holes then it would be simple but there can be anything from 1-1000 holes so i carnt just go by altering dimensions.

Ideas?

oh and btw is anyone else having troubble getting into the se support site?

You could possibly do it by linking the variables controlling your hole pattern (X,Y spacing etc) to the values in your spread sheet. You will have to create the holes in the part flattened state.
The spread sheet can be a separate file (external to SE) or can be created within SE.
