drilling holes on an structural assembly

Thanks to the guys for having answered my other questions before.
Using Solidworks, I want to drill holes on an assembly of column, beams and plates (or multi-body model of such parts), intending to have perfectly aligned M12 holes cut with the Hole Wizard and plates perfectly mating with the column and beams. What is the easiest or shortest way to do this and Save so that all the parts are holed and the plates cut to shape and the beams cut to proper length?

Also, what do you call that stretched hole intended to accommodate small misalignment between the bolt and the hole?

Look in Help for Hole Series, or Insert> Assembly Feature> Hole> Hole Series.

For slots or oblongs, you can sketch a line and Offset it Bi-directional, Cap the ends to make them faster.

MM, why wouldn't you just use the Slot tool?

Van, also, be aware the when you do assembly features such as holes and cuts that you have the option to propagate the feature to the parts which can be handy depending on your design intent.

Eltron, no logical reason, just my preference. The Slot tool is a tad quicker and tidier.
