Drift Loading on Lower Roof

Hey all,

I have a situation where a lower roof is bounded on two sides by a building that is about 6-10' taller. When considering drift load on the trusses below, is there any literature regarding the application of the drift loads from the two directions simultaneously. I feel as though they should be applied together, but wanted to make sure before having the truss designers re-submit. Thanks in advance!

See the attached example out of the MBMA Metal Systems Manual. This example is based on IBC 2006 but would be appropriate in concept for later IBC editions. A similar picture exists in the latest Structural Commentaries for the Canadian building code, but showing an outside corner rather than an inside corners.
All drifts should be analyzed to act simultaneously.

As a snow sxtory moves through, as with any storm, wind directions change. So do use both loadings simultaneously.
