Hi all,

I've got a small problem, and i would have thought a program like solid edge could handle it quite easily. I have a very easy part that has some dimensions fixed and others vary, there are about 20 different combinations with the varying dimensions. Rather then create 20 different drafts, I'd like one with a drawing showing the fixed dimensions, and a table with all of the varying dimensions indicating to dimensions A,B,C....

I have created all of the varying dimensions using the family of parts. I can't seem to bring up something like this in the drafting mode. I have also tried using the show names command and changing the dimension name to A,B,C.... and then just cut and pasting a table from excel. But it changes all the dimensions to names, and I want the fixed dimensions to remain on the drawing showing there value.

So if there anyway I can import a list such as this or is there anyway to set it up so only some dimensions show values and some show names.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Mark

1. Click on the dimension that need to be named.
2. Click on Dimension Type icon from the Ribbon Bar.
3. Select the Blank (the icon with X greyed out).
4. Click on Prefix icon from the Ribbon Bar.
5. For an example, type A in the fields provided in the Dimension Prefix dialog box.

Hope this helps.
