Dos Command line run macro

I see refernces to using the -s<startup file> yet cannot seem to make it work.
I have a non-graphical macro that grabs area calculations and dumps it into a csv file. The macro works just fine.
When I create a startup.txt file and attempt to launch microstation with -s<startup file, nothing happens. Can someone please give me some examples or any information on DOS command line launch of macros for Microstation J?
