Does NX have an automated clearance check feature for a range of motion?

Hello,

I am working on a tube support inside a crankcase that is positioned near the crankshaft. I’d like to give the crankshaft one full rotation and find the minimum clearance between the crank and the support at every five degrees or so.

I was an I-deas user for many years and I remember being able to create animations with sequences in Master Assembly. There was an interference command that would automatically measure the distance between two components at every sequence in the animation. So, If I set up the sequences to rotate the crankshaft every five degrees for one rotation, it would give me a list of measurements for every sequence.

Does something like this exist in NX?

I am using NX 11.

Thanks!

You should be able to create a "motion envelope" in the "Assembly sequence" , then check between the resulting faceted volume and the surrounding.
I just tried this, and, it requires a license that i seem not have,
but there are no records of what license is missing, neither in the NX syslog nor the licenseserver log. Weird.

Regards,
Tomas

I gave it a try and wow, that is amazing! Thank you Toost for teaching me something today!
