I'm looking for some literature or suggestions on improving the wear resistance of concrete pavements. I know finishing techniques/curing will affect the outcome, but I'm not sure how much compressive strength affects the wear resistance. Does anyone have ACI 201.2R-01: Guide to Durable Concrete? From the table of contents on the ACI website, chapter 3 on Abrasion appears to have some interesting topics.

CTW...ACI 201.2R primarily addresses floor slabs, but does provide some insight to abrasion resistance of pavements. The bottom line is to design the concrete for durability and the strength will follow; however, strength is the measure most common for acceptance. Pavements should have minimum compressive strengths of 4000 psi, with preferable measures being 5000 psi compressive and 650 psi minimum flexural strength. Both will generally result in increased durability, provided a low-slump concrete is used and the strength is achieved through proper proportioning, finishing and curing; and not just the addition of cement.
