Hi all,

I'm designing a system with one DMX controller and 10 DMX controlled AC dimmer.

Dimmer is triac based one and 300~650W, 230VAC.

All dimmer modules will be encased.
And i want to ground the case to neutral(earth) to prevent problems like ESD and leakage.

Can i tie module's circuit ground to neutral earth ground?

I saw AC dimmers will induce lots of inductance to neutral earth ground.
If this is so, even I tie circuit and earth on single point, I believe, DMX communication will be affected. (since DMX uses GND pin to tie modules together.)

Plus.
I use opto-couplers and isolated, regulated DC/DC convertor for DMX comm. for preventing ground loop.

Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.
