Hello,

I have a DLO cable to install Inside a 250A Eaton HJD2250 breaker.
Browsing google, i am now almost sure that this fine stranding (262.6 kcmil) is not made to be squeezed and torqued in that breaker terminal.
I don't know which products exist on the market to fufill this job. There must be adapters that exist for this purpose?

Any idea on how to do that? I am in Canada by the way (code purpose!)
Thanks

Mike L's suggestion looks good and no need to derate the cable.

We use Greaves sometimes. They are very nice pieces.

I guess at this point the question should be asked what is the application?

I have used pin type terminals on flex cable in stationary applications with no problems, but in mobile or marine applications the solid pin type has sometimes gotten loose in the breaker terminal connection.

I have used the Greaves flex adaptors quite a bit in multiple applications with no problems i know of.

Best answer is to contact both Burndy and Greaves with details on your application and what you are connecting to to get a proper recommendation.

Another issue with the Burndy is that the barrel of the pin terminal is quite thick, and takes a larger crimp tool to make the connection properly. Not knocking Burndy, good stuff and use it all the time, just in some cases like this you need specific crimp tooling where with the Greaves adaptors I use the crimp tool and dies on my truck with no problems, at least so far.
