DLC Ta-C coating abrasion longevity

I am considering using Diamond-like-carbon (DLC Ta-C) coating to increase the resistance of a stationary device ie. type 304 SS against abrasive wear experienced from fluid flowing through waste water slurry.I have tried boronizing and have been happy with results but now I'm thinking even more long term and am considering DLC. Any thoughts?
