I am doing a structural retaining wall in a seismically challenged area (California). The ground is rock the height of the retaining wall is 6 ft. I am planning to put a post behind the retaining wall to take the load from the top floor that overhangs the retaining wall. The post(PIER) will be about 4 ft to 5 ft from the retaining wall. The pier will be drilled in the rock to a depth of 8 ft to 10 ft, the load is carried down to a deep level where the retaining wall footing is. When designing the retaining wall will I have to consider the discharge from the load on the pier?

No, if the bottom of the pier is level or below the footing of the retaining wall.
