Hi all

Does anybody have expereince in dealing with dimethyl foramide ( DMF ) . I am basically intetested in the safety and storage precautions ? Is it safe to handle in drums or unload the drums into a storage tank and then use it from there ? Our daily requirement will be about 340 kg.

Who are the major / reliable suppliers other BASF ? What is the cost per MT ?

Thanks in advance

DMF is dimethyl formamide. It has a flash point of 58oC, and is an excellent solvent. It has been published that exposures by inhalation, skin contact, or ingestion are not considered hazardous. Anyway, best would be to ask the manufacturer (Dupont in the USA) on safe handling procedures which should be clearly written in its MSDS.
