dimensions of the polypropylene pipes and fittings

I use the polypropylene pipes and fittings. Before welding I checked the dimensions of the fittings. Fittings are bigger than the cold welding tools. Company which produced this materials explains that it is a normal situation but I think the result of welding will not be good. Please let me know who is right.
