I think that this has something to do with overdefinition, but I can't find a setting to turn it off so that they are automatically driven or that they show up black. any thoughts?

Bubbles and Annotations shouldn't be affected by overdefinition.

Is this happening with all files?

What video card and driver are you using?

[cheers]

This is happening with all drawing files.

vid card is NVIDIA QUADRO FX3450/4000 SDI

Check Tools > Options > System Options > Colors and make sure all settings are as you want them.

They are...and I changed all of the ones that were red to another color...still red all the time.

I'm not sure...

I just opened up an old drawing and all the text and the bubles come up black, but anything new that I add comes up red.

Do you have a layer activated in the drawing which has been assigned to show as red?

[cheers]

boottmills,

Make sure they're not dangling (I think) any changes you made may be coming back that way. By default I think they are brown but may look red I don't really know I'm somewhat color blind. Just a guess.

This only happens with new dimensions, all notes that I add, and the bubbles that I add...and when mine dangle, they are olive :)

How about checking your "Set Next Line Color" setting (the "Line Color" button on the Line Format Toolbar). Make sure "Default" is checked.....

or ... create layers and put all the balloons, notes, etc on the layers.

ctopher...I actually tried that and that did not change the color either...it was quite frustrating!
