We've just upgraded from NX6 to NX9.

Frequently, we create dimensions associated to an underlying Sketch. We then use Visible in View and make the Sketch layer invisible. The dimensions initially remain associated. However, if a View Update is performed then the dimensions become un-associated.

Does anyone know what version this behaviour changed ?

This started to happen when the Exact type view style was introduced. When you change the view style to pre-nx8.5 then it should be okay again.

I don't see that as an option in NX9.

I guess it's related somehow, but when you use a manual boundary to crop geometry, dimensions also become un-associated.

In NX8.5, once you have placed a view as exact it is not possible anymore to change it to Pre-NX8.5 view style...
You have to select that while placing.

I'm expecting this behavior hasn't changed in NX9.

Nutace, you're correct.

When using "Exact”, lines and arcs are not capable of automatically triggering a view update.

GTAC have advised to stay with "Exact (Pre-NX8.5)",
