The question of whether to dimension to hidden lines came up a few weeks back and I think the reference given was slightly wrong.

ASME Y14.5M-1994 paragraph 1.4g (not 1.4c)

... Dimensions should be shown in true profile views and refer to visible outlines. [\quote]

My checker and I were looking for it this morning.

ringman,
Shouldn't that be a new thread?

Probably a new thread, and rivet patterns probably an exception, but I have used position successfully on rivet patterns to define the requirement and inspection, whereas Manufacturing engineeering used templates or match drilling to accomplish the task.

Out of interest, are you using match drilling because the rivets are csk?

(I know it should probably be a new thread but it wasn't my question.)
