Hi Guys,

I'm having problems dimensioning a helical sweep i have produced in 2D. I have drawn a helical sweep (spring) in 3d and am unable to dimension it in 2D, i cannot click any points on the helical to dimension. I am trying to dimension free length, internal and external diametres. I can draw ontop of the 2d model and create a 'fake' dimension but would prefer to not do this. So how do i do it?

cheers

Show your part dimensions.

If you want to dimension your Helical you'll need to split it using the divide [-+-] icon on the Trim Flyout which shows Smart Trim by default I map-keyed mine to work when I hit t3, t2 is for Corner Trim.

Of course splitting the sketch is necessary for Var Pitch Sweeps.
The other way you can do if you want to drive the Pitch from the sketch you can draw a Construction Line to dimension pitch in the sketch.
