Difference between Thermal and Temperature switches

Im trying to make an index for the different symbols for an electrical schematic using U.S. standards and I.E.C. Im having a really hard time finding a comparison chart online. anybody know of one???

also, what is the difference between Temperature switches in IEC and a Thermal switch overload. i know there is two different types of each. (N/O, N/C)
