Determining input power requirements of Audio Power Amplifiers

Anyone have an answer on the AC input (VA)requirements for audio amps using a conventional linear PSU. For continuous RMS output normal input is 1.5 times o/p to account for transformer efficiency + heating losses etc. How much can you downrate the PSU for audio use (1000 Watts +). I've heard claims as low as a factor of 0.4

I respectfully will take in account that the most basic is determined by the characteristics of the power output components, for delivering the power you require, so, you will find out the output secondary voltages must be applied to that components to give the o/power.

Normally for that power, you use to handle several parallel transistors, for not to drive more than 7 or 10 amps each, and from there, you may place a power output secondary voltage.
