Hi, does anyone have an outline of how to determine ESAL? The project that I am working on has a large semi showing up a couple of times a week and we have been asked to design the pavement accordingly. The geotechnical engineer has not been any help on this.

Thanks.

Many state DOTs have their pavement design manual on line. For example, NYSDOT's is here:
Can you get a better traffic projection than "a large semi showing up a couple of times a week?" You'll need AADT adn percent trucks, as a minimum.
