I designed a structural steel skid supporting an engine. The owner would now like to lift the skid inplace with a helicopter. I was wondering what codes or standards may be available to check the skid against. Everything from the military and FAA seems to relate to the helicopters only and not to the below the hook items.

You can check the hooks using structural mechanics and you will find that they probably can't hold too much.

You will either have to design a lifting frame or, better yet, contact a helicopter manufacturer. That's probably going to be the end of your anxiety.
