It seems that all slab on grade designs methods are traditionally based on forklifts. Is there any methdo to designing for a plain load per area.

Also, how do I check a newly placed (10 days old) slab on grade for a crane load. The crane is neede to erect a buildign over the new slab.

Thanks
JW

Slab design inquiry, try ACI 360R-92 Design of Slabs on Grade.

As far a strength before complete cure....typical method is to pull test cylinders during the pour, then break at routine intervals to determine strength...from there you can check current concrete strength against your design minimums plus FS. Most testing firms will perform the breaks at intervals you, the engineer, specify; but most follow standard practice (3 day, 7 day, and 28 day).
