How do i get the number of webs required for the saddle?

A saddle only has one web. I assume you mean stiffener?

The presence of stiffeners prevent the saddle from buckling under compression when the as the free-end saddle slides when the vessel thermally expands and contracts in length.

Compress uses a routine in Escoe page 251 to calculate the compressive stresses and therefore number of stiffeners.

Bednar 2nd edition also has a simple rule.

I believe on the program I use, you adjust the number of stiffeners if the saddle top flange is calculating too thick. Otherwise, it's just 2.

@JStephen which program are you using?.Could you share that program please.

@Drivemenuts the project on which im working on has a saddle with three webs and 6 ribs, i would like to know why 3 webs are considered.

Can you send us the drawing?

Rib? Web? Stiffener? Please define.
Is the saddle a single web with stiffeners or a double web box structure? Both involve a very different calculation method.
All software has some sort of rule to handle at least one method.
