Does anybody else have problem with correct values and units in the Material Definition window? Like density value for steel 0.0007324 lbf sec^2/in^4?

Thanks in advance.

Ferincz,

You must use always a proper (consistent) set of units. For Inch
Pound Second (IPS) the units of mass density are lbf sec^2/inch^4. In
other words you must divide weight desity ( usualy given in most books)
by gravity (g=386.4 in/sec^2).

Therefore for steel.

Mass density= .0007324 lbf sec^2/in^4

Weight density = Mass denisty*g =( .0007324 lbf sec^2/in^4)*(386.4 in/sec^2)

Weight density = 0.28299936 lbf/in^3
