Does someone know reference to an international standard like IEEE or IEC that could help in determining the time period that should be used for calculating the demand factor of a motor? Also, does any standard allow applying demand factor to motor FLA's for voltage drop calculations? I am in Canada and the code that I refer is Canadian Electrical Code part 1.

Demand factors apply to feeders with a diversity of loads.
Demand factors are covered in the Canadian Electrical Code
Section 8- Circuit loading and demand factors section 8-Demand Factors
For individual Motors you want to see Service Factors
See:
Section 28 — Motors and generators
28-010 Special terminology
Service —
Continuous duty service
Non-continuous duty service
— an application of a motor where the apparatus driven by the motor has
the characteristics described in
Section 0, Definitions, under Duty, as Short-time duty, Intermittent
duty, Periodic duty, and Varying duty.

Voltage drop: See Rule 8-102 Voltage drop
