Hi John Baker,
In '09 there is a post about Deleting ALL Categories in one operation.
I've tried everything without success.
What haven't I tried?
Cheers

Yes Layer Categories.
NX9
I've tried that in 'Layer Settings' ... I can select all Layers, hit delete and nothing happens.
In 'Layer Category' I can only select 1 Category at a time. I've tried Ctrl + Select and Shift + Select.

Make sure the "Category Display" option is turned on so you can select the categories themselves (selecting the layers won't delete the category it belongs to). Once in category display mode, the normal [kbd]Ctrl[/kbd] or [kbd]Shift[/kbd] select methods should work as expected.

NX 9.0.3.4 here, the normal selection methods work as expected in the layer category view. I don't know of any setting in NX that would change this behavior.

That got it.
So...
Layer Settings>
Category Display option selected.
DO NOT select the 'ALL' category
Multiple Categories can then be selected and deleted

Thanks once again

No, you cannot delete the "ALL" category; it has special standing. It is like the "entire part" reference set, it always exists in the part.
