We sell hose with a nitrile rubber inner layer, and occasionally get customer issues where the hose develops cracks and leaks.

The customer is unaware of any chemicals run through the hose besides water, but we strongly suspect a chemical agent is responsible for the degradation.

Has anyone seen this type of bright yellow degradation before and can you share what chemicals may have caused it? The hoses are primarily for washdown applications.

What is the temperature of the water? Nitrile rubber is sensitive to rapid aging when exposed to hot water.
