Hello, sorry about the topic i posted here but i was unsure of where to get solution from after searching the internet and books I can lay my hands on for almost 2 weeks now with no result. - Am working on deformations of sheet metal, am trying to get a different opinion on the description, definition or understanding of ''through thickness deformation'', my customer wants this in the technical report, unfortunately I agree to include it, I was thinking is something I can easily get off the internet.

I believe they are asking about thinning which is a common problem associated with sheet metal drawing.

In addition to CoryPad's explaination, Any form of sheet metal forming, such as stretch forming, spinning, or hammering will cause thinning or thickening.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

Are you asking how do you get the material to the plastic stage or to its yield range
by applying pressure such are rolling etc and/or by applying heat?

Yeah, it might help to know what the report is about.
