Hi,
We are using Solidworks 2005, SP2. I have an extrusion model that is 4" X 3" X 70" long. We require datum points on the casting for inspection purposes, then also require datum points on the machining for set up purposes. The problem is that we can not get the datum point annotations to attach to points on a broken view. Actually, we can't even get the points to appear in the broken view at all. When the view is not broken, the points appear and datum targets appear normally. When the view get broken, the points appear far away from the views (where they were on the sheet before breaking the view). It appears that SWx has problems with broken views and points. We used 2D and 3D sketches to place our points on the models surfaces. Any help would be appreciated. The work around we are using now is to add small holes (for datum points dimensions) and to use a split balloon (for the datum point call out).
Thanks
Garth
