I was wondering the best way to find the damping ratio of a material? I have a vibe table. If I used a shock impulse and measure the displacement and acceleration then modify the damping ratio in creo until it matches results would this work? Does this ratio based on form factor or would it be constant for a certain material? All i have found is that it should be between 2-5%. but this effects the results significantly.
