Dear all,

Hope you are in the best condition of health,

I'm trying to find the damping coefficient (''C'') of an element of energy dissipation (Shear Fuses) with the next hysteresis loops and I do have also the back-bone curve would you please help with that,

Thank you your help is much appreciated,

I don't think anything from a hysteresis loop is going to tell you about damping. That's mostly about inelastic energy absorption per cycle. Damping is more about energy loss during elastic deformation. At least that's how I view it.

If it's a welded steel structure, then we're usually talking between 2% and 5% damping.
