cutting inconel and austenitic stainless

i have had loats of experience cutting these materials. however, i have always used synthetic coolants. i have heard that sulfer based coolants work well for these materials.

could someone please confirm this? if so, please explain why the sulfer based coolant works best.

Both Machinery's Handbook and ASM HANDBOOK Volume 16 Machining recommend using sulfur-containing lubricants when machining nickel-containing alloys like inconel and austenitic stainless steels. I am not entirely sure of the role that sulfur plays in aiding machining of these alloys. The ASM handbook says that "sulfur imparts improved lubricity and antiweld properties". You should probably consult with a vendor of these types of fluids for the best explanation.
