Cut and Paste Problem

We are running ACAD2000i I have found I cannot cut and paste? I have tried CTRL+C no dice. It gives me "That command may not be invoked transparently"

Is it possibly due to a limitation of drawing size that you try to cut and paste. Try the cut and paste on a simple object.
