I just started getting into V5R21. I've started working on a drawing and my cumulated dimensions are coming out wrong. They were set correctly for my previous version. (R18) But now they are jacked. I've been trying to fix the standards and am having no luck. So I have a couple of questions.
1. Are the dimension standards, in this case ANSI, set for a drawing once you start it?
2. Since I now have R18, R21 and V5-6R2012 on my computer is this causing some trouble? (Maybe I'm changing the wrong standards?)

I've tried running in admin mode and changing the settings, that other posts have suggested, but nothing happened. I'm not use to going into admin mode, and to be quite honest I don't get the reason for needing to go into it just to change drawing-dimension standards, so I may have been doing something wrong. (Actually, it is probable.)

I went into the Environment Editor and picked the Catia name that corresponded to the version I am working in and added values to CATReferenceSettingPath and to CATCollectionStandard setting them to a folder I created for them.

I then ran R21 in admin mode, and it worked. I then changed the ANSI.xml settings according to another post/s and then saved, exited and went into R21 normally. Tried the cumulated dimension and nothing changed. It looked exactly like it did before. I checked the ansi.xml in tool/standards/drafting and they were set to what I set them to. So, I don't get it. Even if the settings I made weren't correct, something should have changed. All I really need is for the dim. value to be // to the 1st picked edge and for that value to be at the end of the 2nd ext. line.

The standard gets imbedded in the drawing. It sounds like you have changed the master standard. This should give you the new behavior for all new drawings (100% new, not created from a template.) If you want to change the standard in an existing drawing you need to be in admin mode, right click on a sheet in the tree, choose "properties", and then press the "more" button. Wait a few seconds and "Standard" tab will show up. You can edit the standard here in the same way that you edited the master standard but it will only affect this drawing. Make sure you have "allow modification of standards" checked in Settings=>Options.

Can you please let me know what settings you end up changing and to what? I am still struggling with getting the ordinate dimensions to look right after several attempts...
