Cross hatch for faceted curve?

Is it possible to cross hatch faceted curve. When i try to cross hatch , i am not able to select the faceted curves. It is allowing to pick only basic curves.

I am supposed to cross hatch a 3D hose. Is there any other way to show a 3D hose as cross hatched in drafting.

I have never encountered such a thing as a faceted curve,...
1) Is this happening on a drawing ?
2) - Since i assume that this is on a drawing, does the view have "Extracted Edges"?
- If not, Select the view - RMB - Style - General tab - Extracted Edges "yes".
Then try again to select the curves.

If it still isn't possible to select, the curves must be "visible only".
