Hi,

In the SDS of Sulphur dioxide gas, it is mentioned that the critical temperture of S02 gas is 175 deg C. We used to operate ou process regularly with SO2 gas well above 200 deg C.Basically, what does the critical temperature menas?
Thanks for your respeonses.

criticle temperature means, once you are higher than the criticle temperature, you can not form a liquid no matter how much pressure you put on it.

I like to put it this way when describing a super criticle fluid (above its criticle points). The fluid will have the thermaldynamic properties of a gas, with physical properties like a liquid.

I often refer to the super critical fluid like dcasto. Above the critical point, you could use either a pump or a compressor. Both should work.
