critical speed

Could someone provide an educated guess (or better) as to the critical speed of a prop mounted on a typical I/O.

I was told long ago even though there is a critical speed for a propeller that you could never reach it if the prop had any pitch at all. This was told to me sometime ago and the person is no longer with us.
I do have some literature on high speed props and I'll go through it to see if has any data or reference.
