Hello,
Question 1
I am looking to create cad templates to be more efficient. Ideally, I'd like to have a template for each type of submission we make (i.e. construction plans, sanitary sewer plans, record plans, etc.). I envision being able to insert a cad template into a drawing such that all the layouts I need for that particular submission type would be ready and I just need to align the linework in each viewport and focus on design. I thought about creating a central cad file with all notes, details, etc. somewhere in model space. The issue is, I typically receive projects, after they have been surveyed, in a separate cad file, so copying the linework into my created template file means the point files will not be linked. I am eager to hear what everyone is doing to achieve this. Do you dump all details and notes in one drawing? What the secrete?
Question 2
I am also interested in how you guys set up your title blocks. Right now my company is all manual, meaning if I add a sheet to a multiple sheet plan, I am stuck clicking through each layout just to change the sheet number. The same is true with the revision blocks. I have heard of sheet sets and fields, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there another way or can someone walk me through how to use one of them?
Thank you!
