I have a 230 megabyte fuel volume model that I am trying to export to STEP format for a vendor. Usually, just the STEP conversion alone converts the model into an unparameterized "dumb" solid. However, due to its size, Creo is having problems making a clean STEP.

Is there a way to convert a model to an unparameterized dumb solid BEFORE attempting to export to STEP? That is, I want all modeling steps to disappear from the model tree ... leaving only one item, the dumb solid.

Thanx,
Ken

The model steps is not what makes the model difficult to export to STEP, it's the complexity of the geometry. The steps are what the software does to generate the geometry.

The ususal suggestion is to create a shrink-wrap model, using Save As/Shrinkwrap and then create a STEP file based on the Shrinkwrap version, or to simplify the model.
