Creating an Arch in solidworks

I am quite new to solidworks and i'm already stuck. I have to design a rectangular base which has an arch connected through the middle. I've made the base but when making the arch i've drawn the circle but can't work out how to trim it and make it like a semi circle. Is it to do with converting entities?

Use TRIM ENTITIES (from the SKETCH toolbar) to trim your arc. Learn "how to" from the SW tutorial.


Maybe is better for youtodraw an ARC not a complet circle. So you don't need to trim later. You are many options to draw an ARC (also from the SKETCH toolbar). Use the SKETCH RELATIONS or use DIMENSIONS to fully define your arc.
